Overbooked Experience

Hello all,

I just settled into a strip-mall motel for the night even though I had a reservation at a Marriott property located 10 minutes away. When I called to confirm my reservation earlier this evening, I was told that the hotel had overbooked themselves and they were going to divert me to another hotel for the night. The supervisor said that they would take care of all lodging and transportation costs for the night.. He also said that they would be giving me extra Marriott points for compensation and to talk to the manager about the situation upon my arrival tomorrow afternoon. My question is this.. What do you think is the most appropriate compensation to expect? Also, will I still get my night's credit and points from whatever I would be paying at the Marriott property tonight? Though this experience has been somewhat of a pain, the manager has thus far taken care of me quite well.
