They randomly take whatever they feel is a threat and its not worth arguing over, most of the time...

Sewing needles I've gotten thru before, cans of spam sometimes, but have been asked to dump soft pack tuna fish before...

And they still allow things like canes ( walking sticks that is ) thru and umbrellas...I think those are a bit more dangerous than needles..

Someone should notice how often they are not paying attention to the scanners- that is what is disturbing...
