Just stayed in Jan 2007 -
As a diamond upgraded to Jr Suite, which is 2x the size of regular rooms and very spacious.
The hotel is very modern and well-kept as far as I've seen.
It's not in the city center, but other than that the location is great. You can catch the bus to the city center or other parts of the town just behind the hotel (bus #58, purchase a day-long pass for 3.50 Euros) -- making it extremely easy to get around without a car and without having to pay for a taxi. Only 15 minutes to city center.
The casino in the basement is also an interesting feature.
The room service menu is not extensive by any means, but the food is good.
Wireless internet vouchers have to be purchased from the front desk if you don't want to use your credit card online.
Only issue is that the on-demand movie system has gone out in the hotel, so there is only French TV to watch (the one or two English channels don't seem to be functioning). Not sure when/if it's going to be fixed, as someone noted that the entire system needs to be replaced.
Also don't like that there are no iron in the room.
I'd highly recommend the hotel if you need to stay in the Lyon area. ^
