Tour of the Melbourne Cricket Ground

MCG Tours depart regularly from 10am until 3pm at Gate 3 in the Olympic Stand. See the stunning new MCC Museum and Library as part of your tour! As there were not enough to get a group discount, attendees will need to purchase their tickets for $15 at the ground. Meet at Hilton at 2:00 and walk over for the 2:30PM tour.

Colonial Tram Car Restaurant.

A booking for the early 3 course dinner (5:45pm-7:15pm for AUD70) has been made. There was limited availability for this and the late dinner was booked out. Note: This price includes appetizer, mains course, dessert and beverages including Selected Victorian Red and White Wines, beers, popular spirits, liqueur's and coffee/tea. Here is an indicative menu. Please note that the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant has been booked for 24 - three are waitlisted. Be at the pickup point at 5:15pm or depart the Hilton Foyer at 5:00pm to travel as a group.

Friday Evening Drinks

Relax after your Tram Meal and catch up with others over a few quiet drinks. Venue is PJ Obriens, South Bank. This venue regularly has promotional/discount coupons available. They may be found in many tourist brochures, booklets etc. So please KEEP an eye out for these if you find any.

Foodies Tour of the Queen Victoria Market

A two hour tour of the three main produce sections of the Market; Meat and Fish, Fruit and Vegetable and the Dairy in the company of a fully qualified Market Guide. You'll see a great variety of fresh, seasonal produce and meet some of the specialist traders and pick up valuable hints in selecting produce while sampling the goods. The group cost for this is AUD25pp.

Ferry to Williamstown for the Official Oz Fest Lunch at 'Attitudes'.

The Ferry offers visitors an historic coastal village experience. Cruise past Melbourne's shipping channels on your journey to the old maritime seaport of Williamstown with it's quaint shops and galleries, cafes and hotels. Official Oz Fest Lunch venue is 'Attitudes'. After lunch, explore the Historic Williamstown area then back to the city by Rail/Tram/Taxi/ferry. Note that there is a tourism booklet that can be found around the city in various places (like the City Circle Tram):
Inside the back cover there are some coupons. One gives 2 for 1 on the ferry saving $9. So keep you eye out for these.

AFL Footy Game: Richmond v. Essendon MCG

Saturday Dinner

Dinner has been organised for the Saturday evening at the "Hard Rock Cafe".

Mornington Peninsula Wine Tour

Be transported to one of Melbourne fine wine growing areas. This tour departs the city around 9.00am; The first winery to be visited is at T’Gallant, Biscuits and cheese complement the tastings. Then off to Willow Creek Vineyard where tastings will be followed by lunch with a glass of wine and coffee. After lunch we travel to the Red Hill Estate Winery, then conclude with a visit to Tanglewood Estate. Arrival back in Melbourne CBD is expected by 5:30pm. A booking and deposit has been made with Mornington Peninsula Tours for a minimum of 15 for a group cost of $110pp.

Sunday Yum Cha

For those not on the wine tour, a Sunday Yum Cha has been organised at the Shark Fin Inn. "Sunday Yum Cha" is a of a tradition in Melbourne and is very popular at this restaurant.

Sunday Evening Dinner in Lygon St

For those still around with the stamina a Sunday evening dinner has been organised. Lygon Street is one of the great food precincts of Melbourne. It has its origins in the early immigration of Italian migrants to Melbourne and, in particular, to Carlton. Pasta Rustica has been chosen for this; they serve great inexpensive pasta and a wide selection of Seafood, Meat & Poultry dishes.
