I guess the SVO member would have to know when and how many of the Starpoints were added to their SPG account on a given date, subtract the redemptions since then, and if any are left, know that they are subject to expiration six years from the original date of issue.
Personally, I don't know of any easy way to differentiate on this side of things, so I doubt anyone else in SPG customer service is going to know an easy way either.
