While we're on the subject, this was circling the newspapers recently.

...Ryanair in talks to serve Tel Aviv

Budget carrier Ryanair is negotiating with Israeli authorities to serve Tel Aviv from London in 2007, The Jewish Chronicle reported.
Although Israel’s strict security measures have historically been a deterrent to low-cost carriers, which require extremely quick turnaround times and baggage-handling operations, the country now seems ready to negotiate solutions to these issues to prop up their flagging tourism industry.

Other budget airlines, including EasyJet and BMI, are reportedly also in negotiation with Israeli authorities for the future.
