You did not take into account those who fly via CDG or AMS to continue their flight to Angola and somewhere in that part of the world. Layover is definitely more than 6 hrs. I agree with you on the part that most of those already fly in Business Class. Therefore, it is correct that those will only enjoy the free day room during their transit....which in the sense, their companies will likely pay for it anyway if they were to check in on their own without using Petroleum Club.
However, for myself, my company wouldn't fly me in Business Class even when the flight is more than 4 hrs. Therefore, I and other employees from the company we work for do get to enjoy other benefits under this membership.
