OT: Eurostar Frequent Traveller

The blurb for joining Eurostar FT is a bit vague. Basically:

"To become a Eurostar Frequent Traveller member (and get lots of perks) simply provide details of the following: - If you are based in the UK: one single or one return from £185 or two singles from £92.50 each.

You’ll then receive your membership number and start collecting points.

Provide us with details of one or more journeys made at any qualifying fare and as fair exchange we'll send you your Eurostar Frequent Traveller card."

Now, what is not clear to me is: do I actually get points for the ticket I use to join? Or do I only accumulate points on the 2nd and subsequent journeys I take? I assume the former (logically) but if take the wording literally it seems that the points from the first trip are lost.

A £25 M&S voucher appears to be at stake, given that this is what a business return to Paris will get me!
