Sorry to even be posting here, but you brought back some significant and powerful memories. I drove down from Flagstaff to get in on "The Sale" -- spent nearly $10K (which is all I had) and put most of it down on the old flight coupon books you could use to fly the short-hops (FLG - PHX, PHX - TUS, PHX - SAN, etc) -- those books were a substantial savings over the normal cost of the flights, and unrestricted to boot -- "The Sale" made them a virtual steal. "The Sale" kept me and Dr. Flyin4MAG, who was in school in TUS at the time, flying back and forth for years. "The Sale" also got us seats in the nose of the 747 to HI to celebrate our engagment.
I will miss HP and it will always share a special place in my heart. Dr. Flyin4MAG and I discuss being on the DASH-8s to FLG and passing around the basket full of food -- usually when we are sitting in F on UA and waxing nostalgic on how good it used to be.
HP you will never be gone from this family, since you literally brought us together. Thanks for everything.
