Good idea listing the proper pronunciation of Suvarnabhumi.
It's actually not TOO far off from the spelling because the letter "v" is pronounced as "w" and the "h" and "i" are silent. Suvarnabhumi means "Golden Land" and it is a better name than the other name for the location --- "Nong Ngu Hao" (Cobra Swamp).
Many times when I have gotten in a taxi to go to Suvarnabhumi, the driver refers to it as "Nong Ngu Hao". Many, many Thai's call it that was well.
And don't be completely surprised if there is NOT total chaos when it opens.
