The IAD-NRT flight seems almost like a vengeance route -- to counter ANA's recent re-entry into ORD-NRT.
UA needs more widebody planes. If there were a few more planes on lease, I bet the JFK flights would have remained. I can understand redeploying equipment for higher-margin business, but NYC/NRT/LHR isn't exactly crap traffic.
