If you are looking for an overwater with plunge pool, the W is the way to go. St. Regis has the overwater with whirlpool, but that's gonna be a small pool (and a lot of $) and the two bedroom overwater with plunge, which will be a decent sized pool and a LOT of $.
And of course the other factor is time. If you are in North America, Bora Bora is a lot easier to get to. Getting to the Maldives is a looonnnggg trip from North America.
