The major exception to the above rule is the Alitalia MD80 fleet used for intra-Europe (but not domestic Italian) flights. 2x2 in J class, comparable to US domestic F/C with much better food and wine.

The AZ A320/321s offer slightly wider seats in J - but only for those seated on the left-hand side of the aircraft. Right-hand side is identical to Y, and one can still be assigned a middle seat.
