it's actually quite good if you don't have elite status, but the only real perk above and beyond Gold & Platinum is use of the Sofitel at CDG if you have a long layover. Some quite good hotel discounts as well.
Personally I prefer to take the bus into Paris and take in some ambience.

You have to be prepared to mix with some hairy types!
