Public transport in L A?
It's geared toward the commuter. If where you want to go from Century City is along commuting paths, it can be ok. If it's not, it's near useless. For example, to get from Century City to LAX by public transportation, you have to either go all the way downtown to transfer to the Green Line back out to the airport, or you have to change somewhere from L A buses to either Culver City or Santa Monica buses (they don't have inter-transfers).
So, for example, if you want to go to Beverly Hills downtown, that's along either Santa Monica or Wilshire, not Olympic, so the buses along Olympic won't get you there (they'll bypass Beverly Hills zooming to downtown). So you'll have to walk over to the Santa Monica Blvd side. Then either take that into BH, or transfer at SM & Wilshire to a bus going down Wilshire.
(There are PARTICULAR SPOTS in the L A area where public transport is half decent, for example on the Westside once you're in the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus territory. But Century City is like the majority of the area, where public transportation is there pretty much for the to/from-downtown commuter only.)
