And even if you are flying on some apparently ineligible fares, it makes sense to sign up - you benevr know how ell designed these things are, and I had lots of miles post on, iirc, JAP04 - presumably some of my trips were ineligible, but upgrades pushed the fare code into one that was covered somehow - I
still can't figure it out, but I never did complain to AA.
