Yep, I did this for my parents (same last name) several years ago -- no bluey. It all worked out great except that my dad spoiled the surprise by reconfirming their flights a couple days in advance.
Oh, well, they enjoyed it, and my mom was very surprised at their seating assignments when they got on board!
