Does this logic work with NZ1 LHR-(LAX)-AKL, too?
LHR-AKL is direct Europe to Asia/Oceania (Area 2 to Area 3) and you could do it without crossing neither Pacific nor Atlantic, but NZ1 is crossing both Atlantic and Pacific and stops in NA.
