I am taking a guess here but a la carte sounds more like the way they serve the food is different rather than the food that is served.

I.E. You can order anything off the menu rather than the prescribed setup as listed in the menu. Does that sound about right? It is more like DL's new BizElite service where you have choices of courses and time for those courses to be served.
