I guess I'm a bit more liberal ... I don't see a problem with "guesting" someone into the AC or giving them some information from EF on a very occasional basis, especially if the "giftee" is not a frequent traveler.
And I go to extreme lengths to avoid the nickel-and-time charges ... not so much because I'm cheap, but because I feel that they are not warranted in many cases.
