Cargo Cult

I'm yet another IT technical bod - I work for a medium/large-ish software vendor and cover Europe, Middle East & Africa (more Europe than anything else in practice though).

Travel policy is generally Y unless you are flying more than 8 hours and you will be going direct to a customer from getting off the plane. Only VP level or above get J otherwise. I'm relatively fortunate in terms of TPs and the odd business fare though because of the nature of the work that my team does often mean flexible fares booked at short notice, paid for from the cost centre of someone who is desparate to close a deal or fix a problem. Love my job, hate the travel policy.
