I am sure some other F passengers must have thought I was seated in F as a friend/guest of the captain, but there was no such influence. I recognised his name when the CSD introduced him over the PA and I was pleased to see him come to the F cabin to personally greet all the F pax. He started at 4A and worked forward, then back to me seated in 4K.

I wonder if the excellent service I received for the rest of the flight was a result of the cabin crew noting how much time the captain spent speaking with me .
I had similar with an FO on the 767 fleet who came to chat to me for a fair while. She recognised my name off the manifest as well. I was glad about that as she was my girlfriend at the time.

Last week in 46A on a 744 the middle ranker came up and greeted me by name, welcomed me back and gave me the last newspapers from J, that was nice.

CX named me on 3 out of 4 in Y last week.

Nothing SYD-HKG and 3 days later HKG to LHR. However, I hope that the lady from Door 3R remembers me in the future!

Worst scenario was being called by first name by five members of cabin crew on a 744 sector. I knew I was doing too much then.
