The rates for Netflix are:

2 DVDs at a time (4 per month ) $11.99

2 DVDs at a time (unlimited ) $14.99

3 DVDs at a time (unlimited ) $17.99

So it is not just an extra $3, it is 2 vs 3 DVDs!
