I work for avis, A cendant company. I dont like this news either. Or rather I have mixed feelings. I like having discounts at Wyndham. But I refuse to stay at any Cendant hotel as they are currently operating. Granted an eye on the bottom line is important. But some brands need looser reigns than others. Also using the cookie cutter approach to ALL brands owned by the same company is just wrong. Avis and budget are starting to grow together in how they are operated. My worst fear is that Cendant will do to Avis what Cendant did to Ramada (doesnt bode well for Wyndham).
