Your chance to join the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games 'Queen's Baton Relay'
An exclusive opportunity for young Australians to participate in the Queen's Baton Relay as an escort runner is almost here.
This exciting once-in-a-lifetime opportunity involves running approximately one kilometre alongside the relay runners, whilst wearing an official uniform, to escort the baton along its journey.
The Queen's Baton arrives in Australia on 24 January 2006. In the final 50 days leading up to the opening ceremony of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, the baton travels more than 21,500 kilometres across Australia, visiting more than 500 communities and being carried by more than 3500 relay runners.
Qantas Frequent Flyers who are aged between 12 and 18 can register for their chance to become an Official Qantas escort runner. Qantas Frequent Flyers may also nominate their children for the chance to participate in this historic event.
