Hey. Did this happen to anyone else? Within literally minutes of receiving the Global Pass letter I received this e from TACA/DISTANCIA:
Earn DISTANCIA miles with Aeroperlas
Beginning June 30, 2005 AEROPERLAS of Panama joins DISTANCIA
as a new air partner.
As of that date, our members can earn at least 150 miles for each
flight they take to or from the cities of Panama, David, Changuinola,
and Bocas del Toro, and redeem reward tickets with AEROPERLAS
for just 10,000 miles.
In addition, as a special offer valid from July 1 through September 30,
2005, Banco Uno DISTANCIA Platinum credit cardholders can
redeem reward tickets with AEROPERLAS for just 7,500 miles, plus
get a 10% discount on tickets purchased.
To receive automatic credit for your miles, present your DISTANCIA
card when making reservations or checking in for your flight. And
remember, with DISTANCIA you’ll always go as far as you want…

Checking your mileage is much easier now!
Now you can check your account balance quickly and easily from the comfort of your home or office by using our new automated system.
To hear how many miles you have, simply call a TACA CALL Center
and enter your date of birth and DISTANCIA number.
Termination of GlobalPass agreement
Please note that as of July 1, 2005, we have terminated our agreements with the GlobalPass frequent flyer program, which includes Aeropostal
and KLM airlines and non-air partners such as hotel chains and
rental car agencies.
As a result DISTANCIA members can no longer earn miles with
GlobalPass or redeem existing miles for travel rewards with the
companies associated with that program.

partners, please visit TACA.COM.
