I would definitely call and ask that a request be placed in your reservation, just in case they make room assignments and create keys prior to your arrival. I am a Platinum member and had multiple rooms reserved and the assistant manager who checked me in was clearly doing room allocations and making keys while we all stood there, but you never know what may happen on the day you arrive. It certainly can't hurt to have your preference noted. You can always also work it when you arrive but at least you'll be on somewhat stronger ground having made the request well in advance.
