How will an America West and USAIr Merger Affect NW Mileage Earning

Oops...Mods - can you please move this to NW Forum?

If USAir and America West merge, will we still be able to earn mileage and EQMs on America West? It will be interesting to see how things play out since US is affiliated with *Alliance. Will USAir leave *A? Will the combined entity stay with *A and NW lose its partnership?

Currently, earning opportunities for WP members are as follows:

America West Airlines

Earning/Redeeming Miles
All America West-operated flights between the United States and Mexico/Canada/Alaska as well as Northwest-coded flights between Phoenix/Las Vegas and Los Angeles/San Francisco when connecting to Northwest Airlines flights to/from Asia.

Destinations
America West and America West Express serve over 80 destinations throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Web site: www.americawest.com
