Unfortunately as has been stated previously, this is a (very) common and very annoying problem. I have resigned myself to shelling out the extra 12500 miles for the MAN-AMS connection as it's not worth the aggravation arguing with them and they don't seem interested in trying to put it right. It's been going on for long enough now for it to be bordering farcical.
Must be something to do with charging extra for connections for arrogant Englishmen
