I would say that is a fair assessment. Tahoe is driving distance from several nice ski areas, but that is not the same as being at a true ski resort where the lifts are a 2 minute walk from the resort, and you can easily take mid day breaks in your room. Plus not having to deal with the hassles of dragging all your equipment to the slopes everyday is a very nice convenience. The snow is also better in Colorado. They also seem to have a nice kidís ski school and kids program. If you can get an award stay in the winter, Beaver Creek is defiantly the way to go.
