Making program changes mid-year would be a disaster for planning and predictability.

Exactly what planning and predictability does that afford? My 18K mile Partner J ticket has an outbound in mid December and an inbound in the second week of March. What will my itinerary earn? All that I know is that it will earn something between 22.5K SPs and 45K SPs plus 20% bonus on the international flights to/from the US as a Global Local. If the outbound earns at the current rate, I will be a little short of the next milestone. How do I proceed today?
