So in running for "worst timing ever of 2026", we decided to book a cruise leaving out of Seattle...on July 2nd. Turns out that is a day after a World Cup knockout match at Lumen.

We want to book a pre-night, but Downtown Seattle hotel prices are usurious ($1,000-$1,200 and up for just about anything including my personal favorite -- the Marriott Waterfront).

I'm thinking of booking something at either the SEA Skybridge or SEA Marriott and Uber to the cruise port, but that's still $700 for the night (I guess less bad)?

Any other recommendations or suggestions?
