I'll add to this that over Christmas had 4 consecutive issues with flights (the most egregious was with outstation staff and my postpartum wife alone with 2 children while I flew back on a flight with no food, limited water and an 'electricity problem'). I requalified for GGL in July, and since then have done quite a few different carriers - LH, QR, AF etc.

The final straw for me was the issue my wife encountered, which was wholey BA's fault (systems not talking to each other about lap infants, at 5am in the morning at an outstation which escalated badly. The GGL agent on the phone after they missed the first flight and it was 8am overheard exactly what was being said to my wife as I patched them together on iphone twice- which I wont go into here, and on the spot offered me Doyle's office email and pushed hard for me to report it as "this is the most shocking I've heard anybody speak to a passenger, especially a mother with children."

I wrote a long and very objective email out to them, CC'ing in premium team, including the person 'designated to me', the GGL team, mentioning the agent by name etc, and since then crickets. The GGL agent specifically said not to go through the normal procedure (fyi)

So now it's not a big fanfare or dramatic goodbye saying I'll never fly them again, and swanning but I will now avoid them when I can- living it Europe it actually makes things a bit easier. I like the crews, I think they're actually very good, Pilots seem good, planes are a bit old now but fine, soft product okish, but honestly its the ground staff and management that are dogging it. However, on the other airlines, including in the same group, there doesn't seem to be such a disconnect. I'm sure I'll still qualify next year because its not that hard, but I'll use IB booked through BA or QR to do so and then go back to the others as and when.
