I hate being thanked for being a DM and MM. It’s disingenuous and some people are more introverted and just want to fly from A to B anonymously without their ego needing to be stroked as someone who has been successful at spending OPM.
It's even worse if you're flying D1 that you paid for, but they thank you for being "Gold", right after they thank someone who is probably flying D1 with an upgrade (or corporately sponsored) for being MM.
So they simultaneously have pointed out to everyone that you have a low status, and how dumb you were for paying full freight.
