No ideas on other luggage delivery but...
Is your ticket issued? Why BMI and not KLM? I would think that if you had it all issued on one ticket, even if two different fares were combined that you could use the trans-at baggage limit, especially if you flew KLM to LHR. Having said this I would check with the airline to be sure.
