They should be able to check the bags through to CDG even if they can't actually check you into the flight (they should be able to notwithstanding the BD flight number)

You will get 250 miles in Y or 500 in C for each BD sector with Mileage Plus. Will take a week or so to credit (used to be longer but things have improved over the last year or so). If bmi issue the boarding pass, it will have the letters "UAP"(general member) of "US*S"(Premier) or "UA*G"(Premex/1K) on the boarding pass next to the name of the destination airport. If not then the number isn't in the system.
