Looked at Hyatt and Marriott for Bangkok in November - prices were 20-30% more than when booking direct. Once I clicked several windows in, I found they were Marriott and Hyatt eligible (used to have that on the moan page). So doesn't seem to me to make sense to book if you are already an elite member

Might make sense if you're a free agent and want that breakfast and one room upgrade.

It seems to me Edit is only good if you're staying in a chain that has no vip program or you're not part of it. The higher price than booking direct doesn't seem to make this worthwhile.
