I am quite sure there will be no matching to EBP, but EBP will get a matching option. Question is if EBP goes to same as Diamond. I am not sure level 7 will be protected from matching, question is just what you need to be to get it.
Regardless of who’s getting Level 6 or 7, the benefits offered are very weak in comparison with Strawberry or even Radisson!
Something that has energised all the forums is the Level 6 benefit of free breakfast at all times, but when looking further inside Scandic Ts&Cs it has been stated that,
“
This "Free breakfast – always" benefit is subject to availability at the restaurant.”
basically leaving the door open for rejections!?
It goes the same for other benefits such as,
Late check-out which is only for one extra hour!
Upgrade to the next room category only!
In addition, some Scandics in some countries such as Grand Hotel Oslo could also be excluded from the benefits.
I had Level 3 and 4 previously in the past before all the changes and unlike Strawberry that benefits were almost always guaranteed, at Scandic even very obscure hotels in Finland/Sweden were generally resisting providing even late check-out let alone upgrade willingly!
