I don't understand the thought on the flight ex-JFK. I don't think anyone wants to eat a "dinner" at midnight local, 7am Finland time and then nothing for the rest of the flight. Why not just serve a breakfast or brunch closer to landing, when the time is more reasonable?
I'm surprised they haven't tried that, if only because breakfast food items are generally a bit cheaper than lunch/dinner items.
