With previous application date of 12/25/24, might as well just call recon instead of a new application. An application for the same card within 30 days of a declined application will probably be “treated” by AmEx as a redo of the prior application thus almost no chance of instant approval.
If approved during recon call, SUB and perks and benefits (if changed between application date and recon call date) will be as per those in effect at the time of original application.
Following up on my DP... I called the recon today. Agent explained that given my previous applications/approvals for the Biz Platinum (~85 days before this NLL application) and the business gold (30 days before this NLL app), my application was cancelled, not declined (essentially the system viewed it as a duplicate/error). The agent said she could try putting it through again and within 2 minutes I was approved. Notably, my approval comes 93 days after my last business platinum, so >90 days may very much be the reason here, although its possible calling recon a few days earlier might have gotten the same result. Amex for the win.
