Just looked at fares Weds night (big rainstorm, but stlll!) Uber and Lyft were $270 and $300 from Chelsea to T4. GF and I hopped on the E train. Had to schlep a pretty heavy bag down a flight of stairs, but saved about 20 mins and $250.
Prices have gotten (been) insane -but add a little bus hop to the mix and it's an absolute Hell No from me.
Are taxis still at the terminal curb?
This started in mid or late summer I believe. FHVs can drop off at the terminal but can only pick up in the lot. This includes services like Carmel, unless maybe if you get an “inside” pickup, as in that case you have to walk to the garage. That said, traffic can be bad given roadway construction (someone just posted in the DL forum about a 45 minute backup), so the port authority advises taking the air train (from either the Lefferts drop-off or Jamaica).
