Hello all, this seems like the right place to ask this question.

I'm trying to open up an economy reward seat on QF2 on the 7th Dec to get my daughter home for Xmas.

I'm currently Platinum but will turn P1 on the 25th November.

I've tried asking for a seat to be unlocked by virtue of my current Platinum status but computer said no. They said I could keep trying every few days and may get a different answer. I've had success as Platinum before on domestic routes but never tried one of the big ones.

Am I right in thinking, after turning P1 I can try again but with more chance of success?

If not, I can start looking at other dates or a cash flight to get her back. My concern is by the time I reach P1 on the 25th Nov, we're only a couple of weeks away from the flight date so may be too last minute?
