I would say at SFO don't expect an upgrade, and since COVID don't expect an upgrade anywhere, so better to book what you want. Seems like the fleets shrank then never bounced back. SUV won't even swap for a non-SUV, unless they happen to have an abundance (e.g. MSP in the winter, easy to swap to a sedan even when it cost way more to book, PHX easy to swap to an SUV because they have so many of them).
Thanks. I've booked the Extraordinary saloon because we want to guarantee that level - I was just hoping we'd be able to move sideways into an Extraordinary SUV,
We're picking in in SF downtown where there seem to be fewer options - with that and the reluctance to 'upgrade', I don't think it'll happen!
