I was pleasantly surprised with JFK-PDL in business class. The seat was typical USA 1st class, pleasant service and good food. Drinks were flowing throughout the flight. Price was significantly cheaper compared to United EWR-PDL in premium economy, which is a similar hard product.

Now going PDL-CDG in Y, but assigned the same seat in business class for free with one of their “top” Y fares only slightly more expensive than most restrictive “Y”.

I assume it it will be economy service to CDG, but wonder why Azores does not offer business class on their European routes and they give away those seats basically for free (in my understanding with cheaper Y fares you can also reserve business seats for 25€).
