There's one path through immigration to baggage reclaim.

Then there are two paths out. One for France and one for Switzerland, with their own customs.

I believe, hiring a car in one country and driving it into the other requires customs declarations (as Switzerland is not in the EU) but I've not known anyone actually having to deal with that.
