Inexpensive trains leave ZRH frequent for Hauptbahnhof (the city's main trian station) and will take 10-15 minutes, and then a CHF 2 fare on the city tram from Bahnhof Strasse (tram #6,8,13--double check) is 3 stops, and then a short 1.5 block walk to the hotel. Taxis in the city are absurdly expensive.

Just got back from Zurich a few days ago--very pleasant stay at the PH, but theft of shoulderbag with notebook computer and wallet at ZRH was a sad and embarrassing reminder that the quiet airport could be teeming with organized crime. Keep your guard up at all times.

The PH is quite nice and rooms are good sized. Overall, the staff is quite attentive. Internet access will run you CHF 0.50/min or CHF30 for the day. (There may be free WI-FI access in the lounge--you'll need to ask.) Continental buffet breakfast included for Diamonds in the very pleasant lounge. Check your bill to be sure no erroneous charges in that regard--the breakfast staff is quite pleasant but may be confused: e.g. charging for water.

Monet exhibit through mid-Februrary well worth a visit. (closed Mondays). A short day trip to Baden for a good soak in mineral baths of one the towns spas might be just the indulgence you need on a very cold winter day. PH has sauna and steam rooms, but no pool or jacuzzi in their spa. Enjoy your stay!
