my x-post comments

[x-posted from long tsunami thread, just to make my point of view known...]

I found this thread while browsing around the ORP forum. Clearly there is a huge amount of anger directed against B747-437B. His sentiments, while perhaps more baldly stated than most, are NOT unique. For example, see this op-ed piece in the SF Chronicle, making many of the same points. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/artic...INGORAIIMP1.DTL

Also, as somebody who (a) has visited India twice (b) has Indian friends who live here and abroad (c) has a masters degree in international relations and (d) lives in New York and was downtown when the Twin Towers collapsed on 9/11, I do agree with some of B747-437B's comments. He raises fair, although perhaps uncomfortable and depressing, points.

I think it is wrong for people to ask him to retract his statements or to demand that he be "fired" as a moderator. I don't like everything people say on this board, and I'm sure people don't like some of the things I say, but I wish there was a little bit less finger pointing and righteous indignation.

Just my 2 rupees. And no, I have never met B747-437B.
