I found this thread while browsing around the ORP forum. Clearly there is a huge amount of anger directed against B747-437B. His sentiments, while perhaps more baldly stated than most, are NOT unique. For example, see this op-ed piece in the SF Chronicle, making many of the same points.

Also, as somebody who (a) has visited India twice (b) has Indian friends who live here and abroad (c) has a masters degree in international relations and (d) lives in New York and was downtown when the Twin Towers collapsed on 9/11, I do agree with some of B747-437B's comments. He raises fair, although perhaps uncomfortable and depressing, points.
I think it is wrong for people to ask him to retract his statements or to demand that he be "fired" as a moderator. I don't like everything people say on this board, and I'm sure people don't like some of the things I say, but I wish there was a little bit less finger pointing and righteous indignation.
Just my 2 rupees. And no, I have never met B747-437B.
