The OP doesn't explicitly state a "get of the cold" requirement, but since all of the examples offered were warm places, I'm guessing your inference is correct. When I was about 12, my dad swapped SBH (where we usually went) for NYC during one Xmas vacation, and while we had a fun time, I would have preferred St Barts. As a kid, I was much more into swimming than Broadway musicals or stuffy NY hotels.
