If you're buying euro-J with either airline, it should be because either:
- The Luggage allowance, priority security, lounge access, and priority boarding make it worthwhile.
- You need to impress someone
- Some weird cult thing involving attaining status for an alliance you don't fly nearly enough to benefit from status.
- You have a medical condition for which easy lavatory access is important.
otherwise it doesn't make sense.
now, long haul, that's a different story, and many of the people in euro J are connecting.
as an aside, in the US, domestic first class is basically alcoholic class: most people are pounding whisky and the food is largely carbs.
