I’ve stayed at Cala de Mar and the Thompson, and had dinner at Casa Que Canta. I just didn’t love Zihuatanejo. The beach was unappealing and the town rather gritty. We checked out of the Thompson early and went back to Cala de Mar, which was exceptional in every way. But there is no beach there, which may be a dealbreaker for some.
